what we offer
Discover the art of glassmaking and experience the magic of molten glass up close.
In this hands-on workshop, guided by two glass artists, you will be introduced to our work and watch a live demonstration of basic lampworking techniques.
You will then create your own decorated glass bead, working directly at the torch with our constant guidance. The experience is accessible, engaging, and enjoyable, designed for anyone who wants to try glassmaking and take home a unique piece made by hand.
We will welcome you to our studio in Murano, where we create our production pieces—mainly jewellery and small sculptures—and where our contemporary artworks are also on display.
Andrea Penzo, a glass artist with more than 30 years of experience, born into a Murano glassmaking family and also active as a theorist, works alongside Cristina Fiore, an artist and teacher with strong communication and relational skills.
An informal and creative place to get inspired.
-
A short introduction to lampworking in our Murano studio. After a brief demonstration, participants will create simple glass beads at the torch, guided step by step throughout the experience.
-
A longer hands-on experience for those who would like to spend more time working with molten glass. After an introduction and live demonstration, participants will create their own decorated beads with constant guidance, exploring the material in a more relaxed and engaging way.
-
A simple and surprising activity centered on the famous Rupert’s Drop. Participants will discover the science and history behind this extraordinary glass form and take part in its making, experiencing one of the most curious reactions glass can produce.
-
A private workshop designed for individuals, couples, families, or small groups looking for a more personal experience. The activity offers dedicated guidance, a flexible pace, and the opportunity to enjoy our studio and the world of Murano glass in a more intimate setting.
teaching method
Our teaching practice includes the Contemporary Jewellery Master’s programme at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and the “Materie di Studio” programme at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
Learning through observation
Each experience begins with a live demonstration. Observing materials, gestures, and techniques helps participants enter the process naturally, building familiarity before practice begins.
Step-by-step progression
Our teaching approach is gradual and accessible. Every participant is guided from simple actions toward a slightly more advanced one, so that learning remains clear, achievable, and satisfying.
Practice with close guidance
Making is at the centre of the experience. Participants work directly at the torch, always supported by constant guidance, so that each step can be approached with confidence and attention.
A calm and encouraging environment
We believe learning happens best in a relaxed atmosphere. For this reason, we create an informal and welcoming space where curiosity, concentration, and creativity can develop freely.
More than a workshop, this is an opportunity to spend time inside a real Murano glass studio and encounter the material in a direct, personal way.
What we offer is not only a technical introduction, but also a moment of attention, exchange, and discovery. Working with glass requires patience, precision, and the ability to follow a material that is always alive and changing. For this reason, each activity is designed not simply as a demonstration, but as a guided experience in which observation, making, and conversation all play an important role.
Our studio is both a place of production and a space of artistic research. Here, everyday practice coexists with experimentation, contemporary works, and a long connection to Murano’s glassmaking culture. This gives participants the chance to enter an environment that is active, authentic, and shaped by real work.
We are especially interested in creating experiences that feel human in pace and atmosphere. Rather than performance or spectacle, we value presence, care, and the pleasure of making something with one’s own hands. Whether the workshop is brief or more in-depth, we want each participant to leave not only with an object, but with a meaningful memory of time spent close to the material, the process, and the spirit of the studio.
